The First EVER Hillside Comic

Sometime in August 2005, at eight years old, I made my first superhero comic after reading about two boys who did the same thing in the series of Captain Underpants books. Everyone thought I would eventually grow out of it. Twenty years later, it's starting to look like that might not happen. A huge thanks to everyone who ever encouraged me in any way, from parents and family who always showed interests in my characters and bought me art supplies for Christmas, every teacher who ever gave me a sticker to praise for a good drawing or let me use the school printers to make comics, my nan for taking the time to knit my character onto a jumper and make the first ever Hillside Comics merch (it's still in the attic upstairs), my sister for making 'free gifts' to go with new issues, everyone who ever bought something from my table at comic-con, every friend who ever had a chat with me about my crazy, never-ending ideas for stories, to Kyle for going over the old comics with me while inebriated for the Drunk Comics videos, to Dav Pilkey (who I had the pleasure of meeting earlier this year) for making Captain Underpants and continuing to inspire kids today with Dog Man, and to everyone who ever liked, shared or even looked at one of my posts on social media. You all the reason i never have any regrets about my childish hobbies and ambitions. I will absolutely continue to annoy you with them for another twenty years.
Below is the first Hillside Comic, featuring my own hero, The Triple Spin, and his partner in crime fighting, Captain Splat. Since, in the Captain Underpants books, George and Harold wrote their comics in a treehouse and called their productions 'Treehouse Comics', I decided I needed a similar moniker. I lived on a big hill at the time, and thus, Hillside Comics was born. For more background on The Triple Spin and other classic Hillside Comics characters, be sure to watch the Drunk Comics videos, where me and my friend Kyle take a trip down memory lane and even continue the story. Until then, I will be describing each page below to help you understand whatever was going through my eight-year-old noggin at the time.

In the middle we see the Triple Spin. On the left is Captain Splat and on the right is this issue's villain, Pencil Head. There is also a guy on a hoverboard. I never bothered including him in the rest of the story, or anything else ever again. I have decided to name him 'Hoverboard Guy'.

TTS and Captain Splat are watching TV, and have a childish argument, before the news bulletin reveals the sinister villain Pencil Head is on a rampage. Seconds later, they engage him in battle.

Captain Splat, in his goo monster form, distracts pencil head with an insulting poem, giving TTS the opening he needs to charge at him with such speed and force that it turns Pencil Head into a small piece of sentient poo (somehow). Later, Pencil Head is trying to think of a new plan...
