When I was 16, I was inspired by Zoom Rockman and I pitched a cartoon to my favourite childhood comic, The Beano. (I did not hear back from them) I like to think it was pretty funny anyway. Captain Awesome was just mild-mannered citizen, Gareth the Geek by day, but when he puts on the magical leather jacket of famous rock star Timi Kendrix that he bought on ebay, he gains the powers of coolness and uses his abilities to fight crime alongside his unkillable sidekick, The Roach.
Eagle-eyed hillside comics fans may notice that two of the heroes we see in the audition queue are Captain Splat and the Metal Monster from The Triple Spin which are in some episodes of Drunk Comics (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCHVaAlIjA4&t=670s) . Does this mean the Beano and Dennis the Menace are canon to the Triple Spin lore? It's probably best not to think about it...
